Woodward Hill Experience
I really enjoyed going to Woodward Hill. During this experience I got to gain confidence in talking to my peers. It probably helped that they were so much younger about me but I still got to find my voice with them which is a small step, but in a big way for me. I really enjoyed working with the kids. They kept asking about high school which was pretty impressive because when I was in grade six I wasn't even thinking about high school and they are taking responsibility in their learning which was really impressive to me.
My Leadership Journey
I think this class has helped me feel more confident with my classmates. I think my Leadership roles in this class have grown compared to before. I am now able to speak in front of the class without second guessing myself, whereas before I couldn't even speak in front of half the class confidently. My main goal in this class was to improve on my public speaking aspect and to find my voice. I can honestly say that I've been taking very small steps towards my goal but it's a long journey and a big task for me but I am willing take the time to achieve it. I think I have grown as a leader more than I think. I know that I still don't have enough confidence to lead the class so to speak but I know I can lead my peers who are younger than me, for example the grade 8 retreat, I really got to find my voice there. As far as my Leadership growth in this class has come I think I've really stepped out of my comfort zone which is another small step to reach my final goal.
Food Bank
When I volunteered at the food bank open house on Saturday it was a very moving day for me. I was fortunate enough to see what the food bank volunteers actually do every week and it was great to see them get honoured and get recognised for everything that they do. While I was there I got to experience what it's like to resupply the food and beverages. I also got to mingle with regular food bank volunteers. We talked a lot about what they actually do in terms of helping others. I won't forget what one regular volunteer said to me "I don't even do anything, this is all based on you, we wouldn't have the privilege to do this without you" What she said to me I couldn't get it out of my head, it didn't occur to me as much as it did that one moment she looked at me and said "thank you" For all these years I've been taking advantage of what others fight for each day, proper food, shelter and even family. This was a very memorable and well worth Saturday spent for me. If I have the chance I would definitely volunteer here again.

Blackberry Removal
From this experience I've learned what I really enjoy and what my issue is, my issue has to do with the environmental outlook. Blackberry removal has been a very fun experience for me. I really love working as a team trying to get rid of all the blackberry. I love being in the outdoors and not being afraid of getting my hands dirty. I wish we can do this again or something similar to this
